FireCask is looking for a Copywriter to join our growing team. This role will involve working closely with all members of the team to deliver expertly written and creative content, optimised for SEO.

Copywriting at FireCask

Creating amazing content is what we do best at FireCask. Our clients range from  tech, fashion and food, right the way through to professional services. This means we’ll need you to have a great eye for detail and the ability to switch-up your writing style to fit the tone and style of who you’re writing for.

Have an inquisitive mind? Perfect. Research is an essential part of the copywriting process, so understanding how to delve into research to get the right answer is something we would be looking for in our ideal candidate for this role.

Keen eye for detail? We would be looking for someone with a deadly eye for detail. Part of this role includes proofreading and editing the team’s written content for tone, grammar and punctuation.

Ideally, you would have a working knowledge of SEO and understand how important it is to write well-optimised copy. The golden ticket here is to deliver this well-optimised copy, within the boundaries of tone and style guidelines.

All about the role

Working as a Copywriter at FireCask, you’ll be crafting copy and content for clients in a wide range of sectors. Below, we’ve highlighted some of the most common tasks you’ll be expected to perform as part of the copywriting role…

Researching

Sometimes you might find that copywriting projects need to be researched before beginning to write. Whether you’re hunting for statistics, speaking to thought leaders, or testing out a product or service before you begin to write about it, we’re looking for a Copywriter who takes researching in their stride and enjoys digging for the detail in any project put in front of them.

Editing & Proofreading

Editing is a vital skill that we are looking for in a Copywriter. We understand that content and copy cannot be 100% right, 100% of the time, which is why we are looking for someone who can step away from their work and criticise it objectively and constructively.

Assisting with the planning and implementation of campaigns

In order to understand where copywriting fits in with the wider digital marketing mix, here at FireCask, we will encourage you to assist with other campaign elements.

From the initial ideation, to the strategy, through to the implementation, you’ll get a 360 degree view of the whole campaign.

  • A very high standard of written and spoken English
  • A working knowledge of SEO would be beneficial but not essential

Minimum Requirements

  • 1+ years experience
  • Educated to at least A-Level
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Be a good team player
  • A very high standard of written and spoken English
  • Optimised copywriting experience essential
  • An understanding of broader marketing channels
  • Knowledge of WordPress or other CMS systems desirable
  • An understanding of other areas of SEO would be beneficial but not essential
  • Accuracy and an eye for detail

FireCask will provide on the job training so that you become proficient in other areas of digital marketing, which can include SEO, campaign planning and account management.
