Mustard Tree Charity Dinner with a Twist
For over 20 years Mustard Tree has been a Greater Manchester based charity committed to combatting poverty and preventing homelessness. Their involvement begins with the provision of life support such as providing emergency food, clothing and furniture and quickly progresses to sustainable solutions which is offered through their work readiness and life skills programme, the Freedom Project. In 2015/16 they handed out 3,626 food parcels to people in need and provided 49,763 meals through their various food operations all within a very tight budget and with the support of sporadic food donations from the public and businesses using mainly long life, tinned or dried food. So, we set the wonderful chefs at The Albert Square Chop House a challenge...to create a menu based on the products used by Mustard Tree with a fine dining twist. To say that Development Chef, Jack, has excelled himself is an understatement and we cannot wait to share his menu with you all.
The evening will of course be hosted in the Memorial Hall at the Chop House overlooking The Albert Square. After welcome bubbles, we will ask everyone to take their seats where Adrian Nottingham, CEO of Mustard Tree and Anna Moss, Director of FireCask Ltd, will welcome everyone. Then the main event will begin and dinner will be served! Throughout the meal we will hear from some of the people who have been impacted by Mustard Tree and whose lives have been changed for the better as a result of their work.
Graham Hudson, Creative Programmes Manager, will be creating a bespoke mural for the event which we are opening up to all of you to get involved. For a £5 donation, you can make your mark on this one-of-a-kind piece of art that we will auction off at the end of the night.
