ExpediaOne of the largest online travel companies in the world

FireCask was originally chosen by Expedia to refactor their entire blog network Traveller Notes. This was largely loaded on a theme that was unresponsive, had poor user experience, and contained a lot of bloated code and functionality. The job involved transferring the theme into a standardised framework, maintain a similar look, expanding to a responsive layout as well as transfer embedded functionality over to plugins. This meant that no matter what the blogger’s chosen end theme is, functionality is always preserved and therefore future-proof.

Since then, FireCask has performed many other WordPress related work for Expedia inclusive of the redesign and maintenance of 5 European blogs as well as other independent Expedia-owned sites.

FireCask were appointed to develop a new mobile-friendly responsive theme for The Poke, as well as create a new community section. With over 2 million visitors per month, it was our job to also ensure that the new theme increased performance and interaction with its audience. The site also adopts the best on-site SEO best practice and integrates fully with social structured data.
